Before PHIL, I found myself doing what many of us do. Every day I was liking, sharing, and commenting all the posts.
The heart-wrenching posts for Pregnancy and Infant Loss Remembrance Day or the post about the young mom/dad/child who passed away too soon from some rare disease none of us had heard of before. The heart-warming pictures from the father+daughter dances or the post about the young mom/dad/child who beat the odds and that rare disease none of us had heard of before. The light-hearted posts about people’s pets or their most recent office gaffe.
I was sprinkling likes and sad faces out as if they were confetti.
However, liking, commenting, and sharing does not effect social change.
Fortunately, we created PHIL so creating social change and engaging in your community can be as easy as clicking that Like button.
Give it a try. Visit the ASKfeed, read about what’s going on. Donate a little (or a lot) to the projects and nonprofits that speak to you.
You can change your community. You can change what type of citizen you are.
Oh, but after you donate, don’t forget to Share.
